Eglise Saint Martin

Le bourg
24420 COULAURES

The church of Coulaures was built in the 11th century and is typical of Romanesque art in Périgord. Then it was fortified with defensive elements. The 17th century altarpiece is one of the most beautiful in the Périgord and belongs to the French Monuments Historiques.
The circular apse backing onto the bell tower and the nave form the medieval part of the building. The square bell tower houses a 17th century bell. The stained glass windows were listed in the Historical Monuments inventory in 1906.
