Le Pont Rouge campsite is located on the banks of the Loue, a tributary of the Isle, just outside Excideuil in the direction of Lanouaille. There are numerous hiking trails in the vicinity, including one in the Auvézère gorges. Continue up the Auvézère and visit the Savignac-Lédrier forge, then the Vaux paper mill, both listed historic monuments. Back in Excideuil, stroll through the old streets and admire the mighty towers of the fortress overlooking the village.
